Blanchard Crescent

What began as a single bathroom renovation quickly grew into a full scale home renovation. We discovered that this newly purchased home had a myriad of dodgy building techniques hidden under floors and in the walls. The upstairs bathroom was only renovated 5 years ago but due to a poorly installed waterproof membrane the shower recess had leaked. This leak had caused damage the adjoining toilet room and linen as was leaking down into the kitchen below. Here are Birdblack Design we don’t offer Band-Aid solutions, if there’s a problem we fix the job properly. And so both bathrooms were renovated from the ground up.

The downstairs bathroom was non-existent, we relocated the old bathroom downstairs (now a linen room) and made a new bathroom in the space which was an old bar. We had our continued porcelain timber look tile running through on the floor. Whereas upstairs we opted for a neutral concrete look tile on the floor.

The black and white scheme for both bathrooms had some life injected into it with our feature mosaic tile. The white grout really contrasts the tile making the pattern stand to attention. A balance of custom made white polyurethane joinery and Caesar Stone Calacatta Nuvo benchtops leaves both bathrooms feeling fresh and revived.
