This existing Bathroom was unbelievably tired and exceptionally beige. Birdblack Design was tasked with giving this generously sized bathroom the ultimate facelift. Given this Bathroom was in fact an Ensuite; we wanted to transform this space into the perfect parents’ retreat.
Our home owners loved the current layout so the aim was to keep the key areas the same, whilst adding functionality and elegance.
The tiles in this space ooze opulence. We installed a combination of two stunning porcelain terrazzo-look tiles, one in white for the window wall and the grey for the floor and vanity wall. These tiles have a lappato finish which gives them a slight sheen.
The remaining walls were tiled in white undulated subway tiles, laid in a vertical stacked pattern, providing an aesthetic of height. This texture has a lovely rippling effect. Our clients wanted a hint of the industrial style in the bathroom while still working harmoniously with their home. We achieved exactly that.
The custom vanity uses a combination of concrete, walnut timber veneer, tan leather handles.Adorned atop are two elegant solid surface basins finished off with custom gunmetal tapware which is used throughout the entire space.
In between the vanity and semi-recessed mirror cabinets, we installed a narrow shelf which is convenient for perfume and cologne bottles along with knick-knacks or décor.
We replaced our clients' claw foot bath with a stunning ellipse-shaped Victoria and Albert bath. This is the showstopper in this space, paired with a floor-mount bath mixer and hand-shower which is handy for rinsing out the bath.
Tucked in its own little nook is the toilet, perfectly out of sight, providing privacy.
