Whether you have a single room you'd like to furnish, an entire home or a commercial space we can tailor this package to suit your requirements.
Items that are included for selection in this package are as follows:
• Loose furniture (lounges, armchairs, dining sets, bed suites, office desks etc.)
• Decor Accessories (lamps, trinkets for display, floor rugs, cushions, throws etc.)
• Internal fabric selections for any existing furniture pieces that can be reupholstered
• Printed CAD drawing which shows the floorplan of each room with furniture drawn to scale if required
• Final selection list of all furniture and accessories selected
Our furniture selection package is specifically tailored to you and your home or commercial space.
Rest assured you will have a one of a kind look that will be an extension of your taste and personality.
If you opt for this package in addition to any of our design packages, we will make these selections towards the end of your project, once we know what remaining budget we have to work with.
Furniture is the final layer of the cake to be installed into your new space. You have a brand new interior and the time has come to add a splash of personality to complete the look. The reason we leave this until after the design process has taken place, is so you know exactly how much you have left to spend on furniture and accessories.
Furniture is fantastic as it not only aids in making a house feel like a home, but you can rearrange it, take it with you if you move, or recycle it to other people when you’re finished with it.
MEET YOUR BESPOKE CURATORS
Ryan is our resident Interior Decorator, Curator and Stylist.
Starting off his decorating career at the tender age of 15, Ryan created a name for himself in visual merchandising and is often headhunted for bespoke projects such as new retail venues, weddings, engagement parties and other milestone events. Ryan's creative and innovative niche has certainly been developing decorated spaces to be a full sensory experience.
After completing his Diploma of Interior Decoration at the Design Centre in Enmore, Ryan has used his skills to full affect. He is well known for his colour blocking abilities, furniture selection and arrangements. His keen eye for detail is exquisite.
Ryan personally loves green, velvet and is a vintage icon. A man of character and charm; Ryan loves to op-shop, turn it up on the dance floor and find old homes to renovate and refurbish.
Rachel is a home-grown Birdblack Design superstar! Rachel is a very cultured young woman, spending her time sipping on delectable wines, eating fine cheeses, local produce and exotic European food.
Growing up in a town of approx. 2250 people, Rachel appreciates the beautiful things in life: visiting art galleries, local markets and homeware stores, floral arrangements and national parks (both coastal and bushland). Sampling life the way she does, Rachel has a wealth of knowledge and creativity under her belt which translates in her work life as curating gorgeous styling and introducing wonderful designs.
Rachel began her working career at Birdblack Design completing a 3 month internship for her Bachelor of Interior Design at Billy Blue College of Design. Rachel brought passionate creativity with her and moved up the ranks from Intern to part-time Junior Designer and as of September 2019, Rachel takes her place as full-time Interior Designer. She is involved in all aspects of the business, from design to decorating, from styling to photoshoots.
Her favourite colours are blues, greens and pinks, she is a massive fan of texture and patterns, and she has made it known that gelato is her guilty pleasure!
Should you opt for this package without the attachment of a design package; the following process will take place:
In our first meeting, our curators will come out to your project space/home.
If it's a new build, we'll meet here at our design studio. In this case you will be required to supply us with accurate drawings to work from. Here we will document and measure the areas that can be worked with as required. We will also take note of any existing items you would like to keep. This first meeting is all about us finding out exactly what you are looking for.
Your brief is an important starting point. In saying that, you don’t need to know every single detail, but if you’ve seen things that you like, or have photographs, this is the best time to share them. We will discuss your budget and time frame considerations.
Based on your brief from our first meeting, our curators will put together a selection of furniture options we believe will best suit your home and match the look you are after. This will include loose furniture pieces, artwork, samples of upholstery fabrics and accessories. At this meeting you will be presented with A3 colour print outs of our suggestions which will include photos of the items, descriptions and pricing.
We work with a lot of designer wholesalers so get ready to see some very unique and stunning pieces that aren't available direct to the public!
We use our eye for design and knowledge of what is available to produce for you the perfect group of selections. This is of course why you're putting your trust in engaging a professional.
NB: Once we present our selections, you have available the number of changes per room below:
2 x Large pieces (sofa, dining chair, artwork etc)
2 x Small pieces (vases, candle holder, cushion etc)
If you wish to view any items before purchasing, we can advise which showrooms have each item on display. You can make the trip to Sydney at your own leisure but please note due to the nature of purchasing wholesale, not all items are available on display.
Once our selections are finalised, you will receive via email a pdf which will outline each item you’ve selected, its cost and its estimated availability and delivery fees. You now have the option to order your items via BIRDBLACK DESIGN or to use our selections as a source of inspiration for your own personal shopping trips.
Delivery & Installation Stage
Should you wish to proceed ordering through us (including any custom-made items), this will now be organised. We will also arrange to install your selections within your home. Installations will be at an additional charge.
